Healing Touch Research

Pain Management

Healing Touch is a wonderful modality for both chronic and temporary pain. Healing Touch practitioners have been trained to look at pain from a holistic standpoint and understand that some physical pain might not have solely physical roots – the root of pain might be presenting itself because of a life circumstance, emotional holding, or past experience that is presenting in the energy system.

"There is equivocal evidence for bio-field therapies' effects on fatigue and quality of life for cancer patients, as well as for comprehensive pain outcomes and affect in pain patients, and for decreasing anxiety in cardiovascular patients."

In the following lecture, listen to Dr. Paul Cristo, a Board Certified, Harvard trained Pain specialists at John's Hopkin's University and Nancy Lester, a Holistic Nurse and Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and Instructor, discuss how Healing Touch is an effective complementary modality to be used in pain and chronic pain cases.
